Timothy Robert Chandler, 47 of Abilene, passed away Thursday October the 18th, 2012 in a Kansas City, Missouri hospital. A service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Abundant Life Church at 741 South 11th, with a burial to follow in the Texas State Veteran Cemetery under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St. A visitation with the family will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Timothy was born February 7, 1965 in Everett, Washington to Robert and Barbara Chandler. His family moved to the Lubbock area when Timothy was 3 years old. After graduating from Shallow Water High School Timothy enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served his country for four years. Once he was discharged he moved back to Lubbock where met and married Kim Allen on May 28, 1994.
Tim and Kim moved to Alamogordo New Mexico in 1994 where Tim worked for Lockheed Martin. In 1997 he started to drive a truck for a living. They moved to Abilene in 1998 where he continued his employment as a truck driver. In 2003, Tim went to work for American Eagle Airlines in Abilene as a mechanic. In 2005 he went back to driving a truck and ended his last transportation job with Hill Bro's Transport. Tim was a 32nd degree member of the Mason Shallowater Lodge #1279. Tim enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also participated in his son's Boy Scouts and martial arts training in Kuk Sool Won at Abilene Martial Arts Center. He loved to watch racing, rodeo and football.
Surviving Timothy are his wife Kim Chandler of Abilene, a son Colton Chandler, his parents Robert and Barbara Chandler, and a sister Kim Wilson and husband Steve and nephew Logan of Plano as well as many other extended family members and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his Grandparents and a niece Alicia Wilson.
