Zona Ethel Odis

Zona Ethel Odis “Granny”, age 71, Beloved mother passed away on December 9, 2020 after a brief illness.  Arrangements are being handled by Piersall Funeral Directors 733 Butternut Street.  A memorial service will be held on December 18, 2020 at Noon at the Fountaingate Fellowship Church, 909 N. Willis.

Zona was born in Sweetwater, Texas December 17, 1948 to Edwin Green and Velma Doggett Green. She was raised in Abilene and she grew up loving to read and watch movies.  Zona loved to study the Bible and attended church regularly at Fountaingate Fellowship.  She loved her dogs and spending time with her grandchildren who lovingly called her “Granny”.  She never knew a stranger.

Zona was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a half-brother W.D. “Bill” Watkins, stepsister Linda Thomas, sister Ellen Cargill and her son, Tommy Odis.

Surviving Zona is her son Charles James Odis and wife Missie, her daughter Beverly Gray and wife Tracies Beaver, sister Jane Dalton; stepsister Brenda Newsome; half-sister Wanda Davis and half- brothers Robert Watkins and John David Watkins; grandchildren Edwin Gray, Nicole Kennedy, Lillie Gray, Step grandchildren Luvly Beaver, and Travis Moore.  Zona will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
