Vondell Caldwell

Vondell Caldwell, 84, of Abilene, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at an Abilene care facility.  Graveside service will be Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Clyde Cemetery, under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Vondell was born on August 12, 1940, in Cross Cut, Texas to Jessie Odell and Willie Loretta (Lee) Golson.  She attended school in Cross Plains.  In 1958, she married Alvin Caldwell, and they made their home in Abilene.  Vondell has 2 children.

Vondell is survived by her son, Greg Caldwell and wife Brenda of Brazoria, 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, sister Betty Lord of Abilene, brother Tony Golson and wife Judy of Hodges, and several nieces and nephews.  Vondell was preceded in death by her parents, sister Venita Bell and her daughter Charlotte Caldwell.

The family would like to thank her care team at Wisteria Place Nursing Home and Hendrick Hospice for all the love and support she received there.
