Thomas Owen Conkling

Thomas Owen Conkling, of Chalan Pago, Guam, died August 28, 2018 at the age of 58 after a short illness.
Tom was born on April 6, 1960 and graduated from Eula High School, Clyde, TX in 1978. Tom worked at Hendrick Medical Center until he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. After honorable discharge from the Marine Corp, Tom worked on the Flight Line, Base OPS at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam until he was accepted for training in Brunswick, Georgia in 2008 as a Federal Security and Border Officer. Tom was employed with Homeland Security at Guam International Airport until his death.
Tom is survived by his wife, Leah (Viovicente) Conkling of Guam; Leah’s family of 3 brothers and 2 sisters of the Philippines and Singapore; his son, James (Becky), and 2 grandchildren of Lancaster, OH; his 2 sisters, Joni Henry and Karen (Steve) DelaVega of Plano, TX; his mother, Carol (Lewis) Faver of Lubbock, TX; and step-siblings, Francee, Strelsa, and LaRenda Faver of Lubbock, TX; Joy (Jerry) Stone of Fort Worth, TX; Florence (Ted) Gregson of Spring, TX; Kathy (Jerry) Huffman of San Angelo, TX; and Darrell (Toni) Hanes of Etna, CA.
Tom was pre-deceased by his father, Tom Conkling, and his step-father, David Hanes. Tom leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends gathered over the years to mourn his loss.
