Steven Douglas Kapuscinski passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on February 7, 2024, at the age of 68.
Born on September 2, 1955 in Osceola, WI. Steve lived a life filled with kindness, laughter, and a deep love for his family, friends and pets.
Steve, known for his vibrant personality and infectious smile, was a cherished son, brother, uncle and friend. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion that will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege to know and love him.
After graduating from Cooper High School in Abilene, Texas. Class of 1974, he lived in Austin, Texas before returning to Abilene.
Steve was happiest when fishing from a young age, which he learned from his Dad. He also liked cooking on his grill.
Steve's warm nature and genuine interest in others made him a cherished friend to many. He was always there to lend a helping hand. His positive influence will be deeply missed by his close friends and acquaintances alike.
Surviving Steve are his sisters and their husbands, Kim & Scott Davis and Renee & Angel Varela, as well as his nephews and their wives Allan & Olivia Davis and Ben & Kim Brown and great nephew Brian Brown, his lifelong friend Tim Bosley and beloved cats Squeeky and Iris. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Diane Kapuscinski and his brother Mike and sister-in-law Jamie.
A graveside service to celebrate Steve's life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the Elliott Hamil Garden of Memories, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, Texas where friends and family will gather to honor his memory. Officiating will be David Cason and Wes Terry from Broadview Baptist Church where Steve was a member.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to West Texas Rehab - Hospice of the Big Country or Taylor Jones Humane Society.
The family would also like to thank all of his caregivers during these last 7 months; Dr. Sandy, Eric, Hope, Stephanie, Tammy, Teena, Rachael, Bernice, Sharon, Brenda & Milene.
Steve will forever be remembered as a compassionate and selfless individual who brought immense happiness to all who knew him. His spirit will live on through the cherished memories he leaves behind.
