Sally Guajardo

Celia “Sally” Guajardo, 71 of Abilene, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019 at Silver Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Sally was born in Los Angeles, California on November 27, 1947 to Gavino and Cruz Arellano.  At the age of 15, she married Leon Guajardo in Abilene and the couple shared 51 years together until Leon’s death in 2015.  Sally worked many jobs around the house and at the Abilene State Supported Living Center, where she retired from in 2009.  Sally had a love for dancing, a good game of Bingo and any other games of chance.  Her favorite time was spent with Leon, visiting casino’s in Arizona and Nevada.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon, son Leon, Jr. and brothers Willie Arellano and Raymond Arellano.  She is survived by her sons Raymond Guajardo and Gabriel Guajardo; daughters Diane Montague, Susan DeLuna and Monica Guajardo; sisters-in-law Rosalie Guajardo, Rachel Arellano and Lupe Guajardo; and her grandchildren Robert, Isaac, Rochelle, Koko, Erik, Tommy, Kristy, Adrian, Raymond, Jr., Anthony, Nicole, Sidney, Rodaesia, Jacob, Jeremy, Melissa, Jon, Sarah, Jessica, Celeste, Gabriel, Marissa and Dallas; plus numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
