Robert Brantley Redden Jr., a beloved father, husband, and honored veteran, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, at the age of 84. A visitation will be on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street. Funeral service will be on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene at 2:00 p.m. Bob was born on December 2, 1940, in Sweetwater, Texas, and dedicated much of his life to serving his country and his community. He proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force on April 22, 1963, and served diligently for two decades before retiring as a Staff Sergeant on May 1, 1983. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career; he spent 23 years as a sales associate at Walmart, where he touched the lives of many with his kindness and dedication. A devoted member of the VFW and Trinity Baptist Church, Bob was known for his unwavering spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand. He was deeply committed to his family, leaving behind his loving wife, Ruth Redden, his son David Redden and wife Becky, and his daughter Jean Redden. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gregory Carter, Ricky Redden, Michael Harp, Dustin Carter, Casey Redden and Tiffany Harp, plus 6 great grandchildren. His warm presence and loving guidance will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Robert Redden Sr. and Mattie Redden, mother and father-in-law D.T. and Helen George, and granddaughter Stephanie Mosso.
