On Saturday January 16, 2021 Bob Cook, loving husband and father of four children, nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren, passed away at the age of 77.
Bob was born January 9, 1944 in Abilene, Texas to Leon and Ethel Oneta Cook. Bob’s father, Leon, was killed in Okinawa, Japan in WWII in 1945 when Bob was only one year old. Bob lost his mother at age sixteen and was then raised by his grandparents, George and Viva Cook in Hawley, Texas. Bob was a retired building contractor of 50+ years.
Bob had a passion for building, remodeling, and cooking. He was famous for his sourdough biscuits. Bob had a gift of gab and always had a story to tell with his great sense of humor. Bob loved his family very much.
On November 28, 1988 Bob married Lynda Lou Mendoza in Abilene, Texas. Bob is survived by his wife, Lynda, of 33 years. Four children; Ginger Meador and husband Chris, Chad Cook and wife Jill, Crystal Walker and Brian Morton, Candice Cook and Louis Gomez. Ten grandchildren; Amber Cook, Shaylea Pennington, Brittnay Cook, Leah Meador, Hayley Cook, Holley Cook, Rylie Savage, Tyler Meador, Braaden Morton, Jaris Savage, and soon to be making her appearance in February Mia Louise Gomez. Seven great-grandchildren; Addison, Summer, Chevy, Channing, Gannon, Samuel, Isabella.
A cemetery memorial will be held on Saturday January 23, 2021 at 2pm at Hawley Cemetery on HWY 277 in Hawley, Texas.
