Robert Neil Bennett, Sr.

Robert Neil Bennett, Sr., 91 of Abilene, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.  Funeral service will be on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Robert was born on June 18, 1928 in Abilene, Texas to Neil Clinton Bennett and Lodema Evans Bennett.  He graduated from Abilene High School and McMurry.  On July 21, 1956, he married Rebecca Archer and they shared 50 years together before her passing in 2007.  Robert worked for Prudential Insurance, serving as a Mortgage Loan Appraiser.  He was a member at First Baptist Church and a resident at University Place for the last year.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rebecca Archer Bennett and his brother Bill Bennett.  He is survived by his daughter Ruth Ann Billett and husband Bill of Stanton, Texas and son Neil Bennett and wife Theresa of San Antonio, sister Betty Frances Specht of Abilene and his grandchildren, David Billett and Jonathan Billett of Stanton, Rachel Billett Anderson and husband Jeremy of Midland and Matthew Bennett and Andrew Bennett of San Antonio, plus many nieces, nephews and cousins.
