Richard C. Garcia, 60 of Abilene, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022.  A visitation will be on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Bethel United Methodist Church, 1102 N. Willis and the funeral service will be at Noon on Friday, May 13 at the church with Pastor Henry Pequeno officiating, under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Richard "Boo-Boo" Garcia was born in Abilene, Texas on May 21, 1961, to Roberto and Pauline Garcia. He leaves behind his three children, Jacob Enriquez (JennaLee), Cassandra Garcia (Alexander), and Chellee Madrid (David). Richard is also survived by his siblings Yolanda Resch (John) of Houston, Ruben Garcia (Rosalinda) of North Richland Hills, Olga Chacon (Gilbert), Odilia "Dilly" Garcia and Yolanda Garcia, wife of late Robert Garcia Jr. all of Abilene, along with his eldest niece whom he regarded as a younger sister, Mellanie Garza, (Bernie) of Grape Creek, grandchildren Jessalyn, Jakob, Jaiven, Rene, Aalexyana, and Olivia.  Also, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Garcia Jr., brother-in-law John Resch, and grandson Robert "Robbie" Madrid.

Richard was a diesel mechanic by trade, showing interest in all things vehicular during his high school years and continuing his education throughout his 40-year long career in operating and maintaining big rig trucks. He enjoyed getting together with his siblings to talk around the table and play poker while entertaining everyone with his amusing stories. He loved going on road trips with his family, always seeking a new adventure. Richard was an avid motorcycle rider; he took many trips on his '08 Harley Fatboy "Lola."

Richard was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where he took on many volunteer opportunities and shared the message of salvation with others. Pastor Henry Pequeno was a friend but more of a mentor; the two had been friends since their younger years running around Burger Street.  He never met a stranger and will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Enriquez, Alexander Estrada, David Madrid, Jakob Enriquez, Joseph Ramirez, Bernie Garza, Ramiro Rodriguez, and Gabriel Ponce Sr., with honorary pallbearers, Jaiven Enriquez and Rene Vargas.
