Reuben Phillip Jackson, 66 of Abilene, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021. Funeral service will be on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Noon at the South Pointe Church, 3050 Buffalo Gap Road, with burial to follow at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene. Services under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.
Reuben was born on December 13, 1954, in Los Angeles, California, to Willard and Delores Jackson. He married Nancy Watkins on December 1, 1975, in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Reuben served his country in the Air Force from 1977-1994. He was a Major and received many service medals including Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for the Texas Department of Transportation in the IT department. After his second retirement he enjoyed remodeling the house, cooking, photography, spending time with his grandchildren, and playing music. He served South Pointe church on the Worship Team and was active in the lives of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Willard. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his son Connie and his wife Stevanie, his son Chris and his wife Bria, his grandchildren Keegan, Korban, and Brooklynn, his mother, Delores, his siblings, Hector, Joyce, Rosanna, Kenneth, Eddy, and Tammy Jo, and many nieces and nephews.
