Ralph C. Hicks, 93, beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on October 7, 2022 in Abilene, Texas. He was a resident of Potosi, Texas. Burial will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 10:30 a.m., under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Ralph retired from a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1969. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was stationed in various places including Ohio, California, Alaska and Texas. He was a Loadmaster in the service and after retirement worked in transportation at Merchant’s Fast Motor Freight in Irving Texas as Safety and HR Director. He enjoyed collecting and working on vintage cars. Ralph was a member of the Masons and Shriners.

Ralph was born on June 27,1929 in Emerson, Arkansas to Charles and Nellie Hicks. He is survived by daughter Carolyn Edge and son-in-law Jerry of Justin; daughter Julie Bramblett of Abilene; granddaughter Wendy Williams Bramblett of Potosi; granddaughter Jessica Gracia and husband Jim of Fort Worth; brother-in-law Titus Darden of Linden, TN; sister Ernestine Ware of Haynesville, LA; nephew Kerry Thomas of Marietta, GA; and five great-grandchildren: Ethan, Maddolyn, June, Jaxon and Jace. Ralph was preceded in death by Bonnie, his wife of 70 years; and his parents, brothers J.W. and Donald, and sisters Maxine Anderson and Earline Christian.
