"Pecos" Pete Gonzalez

Pedro “Pecos” Pete Gonzalez, 58 of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021.  Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street, with a visitation on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pete was born on August 1, 1962 in Anson, Texas to Jose and Amada Gonzales.  He started work at a young age, doing construction work and later as a truck driver.  Pete had a wonderful sense of humor, with a big heart and a personality to match.  He was always smiling and trying to make others smile and laugh.  He was a gifted musician, playing his guitar and singing for all to hear.  Pete’s impact on the lives of his family and his friends will be missed.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his son, Raymond Evans and wife Kammie of Austin; brothers Joe Gonzales and Felix Gonzales of Abilene; sisters Martha Steele and husband Terry, Trina Myers and husband Keith and Angie Ochoa, all of Abilene; Mary Maldonado and husband Felix of San Antonio and Luisa Garcia and husband Paul of Denton; and his 2 grandchildren and his nieces and nephews.
