Norma Jean Williams

May 2, 1931 — February 27, 2018

Norma Jean Williams was blessed by the Lord’s Angels and whisked away to Glory Land on Tuesday, February 27 th , 2018 at 86 years of age.

Norma was born in Lockney, Texas to Floyd and Ora Bea (Golden) Tomlinson on May 2, 1931. After High School in Canyon, Texas, she attended College at Abilene Christian College where she was elected Freshman Class Favorite Girl and met her future husband.  After ACC, she attended business college in Amarillo.

On June 6, 1952 Norma married the love of her life Kenneth Buck Williams in Canyon, TX.  They began their married life in Waco, while Kenneth served in the United States Air Force.  After his service in the United States Air Force, Norma supported Kenneth in his work to acquire his Doctorate in Botany so he could begin his college teaching career.  They worked together as a team  to cultivate the family farms.  With small children in tow, she would drive the large grain trucks into the fields and transport the grain to the elevators.  She instilled within her children the love of God, Christ, and church.  She was  always singing with her beautiful soprano voice and listening to music--from hymns to Elvis and Perry Como. In later life she sang along with her beloved Blue Grass musicians and the Piano Man at University Place.

Norma Jean is survived by her daughter, Cherri and husband Dr. Dale Goad, son, Mark, two grandsons Briton Goad and Adrian Goad and wife Amanda, two sisters Mary Jo Hales and husband Richmond and Nancy Kay Law and husband Bob.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and son Brad Williams.

2nd Timothy 4:6-8 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
