David Michael (Mike) Hale, 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 7 after a long battle with cancer and COPD. Funeral service will be on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Abilene Primitive Baptist Church, 3565 Hickory Street. There will be a visitation with the family from 10:00 - 11:30 am at the church before the service on Friday. Burial will be at the Clyde Cemetery. Services under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.
Mike was born on September 8, 1946 in Weatherford, Texas to Eddie and Lona Hale. He graduated from Morton High School in 1964. After a few years farming in Cochran County, he began work for the U.S. government as an HVAC technician in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He retired in 2010 from the State Department in Washington DC as a Computer Security Specialist after 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mary Jane Hale, and a daughter, Sheri Maness. He is survived by his brothers Clovis and wife Judy of Fort Worth, Texas; Ronald and wife Alice of Lawn, Texas; Larry and wife Kay of Springtown, Texas; his sons Kenny and wife Tara, and Kir; his daughters Beverly Probst and husband Scott; Katerina Candelaria and husband Ramiro; and Alicia Newby; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Abilene Primitive Baptist Church.
