Marlin Lloyd Kennedy

January 31, 1944 — October 17, 2017

Marlin Lloyd Kennedy, 73 of Abilene, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church, 202 Butternut Street.  A time of visitation with the family will be on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Marlin was born on January 31, 1944 in Abilene to Luke and Lena Schwarz Kennedy.  Following high school, Marlin served 3 years in the United States Army, serving in Fort Benning, Georgia.  On August 20, 1982, Marlin married his wife of 35 years, Willie, in Abilene and together, they raised 4 children.

Marlin was preceded in death by his parents Luke and Lena Kennedy and by a brother, Terry Allen Kennedy.  He is survived by his wife Willie of Abilene: sons Mike Barker of Abilene, James Barker of San Antonio and Lloyd Kennedy of Abilene; daughter Mary Kennedy of Abilene; brother Ross Kennedy and sister Dorothy Goodrum; plus several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
