Marietta Proctor

Marietta Proctor, 77, of Abilene, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024.  Funeral service will be on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.  Burial will follow at the Clyde Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Piersall Funeral Directors.

Marietta was born on December 5, 1946, in Abilene to Lonnie and Learice Clinton.  She met her husband Bobby Joe at the skating rink and the two were later married on June 11th, 1966.  They were blessed with 3 children, twin girls Bonna and Beth, and a son, Scott.  Marietta had many loves and passions.  Quilting and crocheting were two of her favorite activities, but baking cakes, especially pound cakes, was something she enjoyed as well.  She had a passion for pets.  It wasn’t uncommon for here to take a road trip and come back with a new dog.  Road trips were another adventure for her and her family.  More often than not, she would get lost, and the family would have to help her get back home.  She was an avid bingo player, casino junkie and shopaholic.

Marietta was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bobby Joe Proctor, and brothers Charles Clinton and Randy Clinton.  She is survived by her daughters, Bonna Lemley and husband Gene and Beth Brisbin and husband Kevin, and son Scott Proctor; brothers Clifford Clinton and wife Yvonne, Johnny Clinton and wife Jane, and Sherman Clinton and wife Claudia; sister-in-law Paulette Clinton; grandchildren Amanda Lemley, Shane Stilson, Chad Stilson, Tonya Jones, Kevin Lemley, Tiffany Garza and Nathan Lemley; and 10 great grandchildren.
