CMSgt Juan Manuel Levario (Ret), USAF, passed away on October 4 th , 2022 at a local care center. A service with full military honors will be held October 19 th at 2:00 pm at the Texas State Veteran Cemetery at Abilene.
Born in El Paso, Texas on June 25 th , 1946 to Manuel and Clare Levario, Juan was raised in El Paso and graduated from high school there. Juan entered the Air Force after high school graduation in 1965 and spent 30 years of faithful service protecting his country. Juan achieved the rank of Chief Master Sargent and served four tours of duty in Vietnam and was one of the first American troops to arrive in Kuwait during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He was a loadmaster for the C-130 while stationed at Dyess and overseas and helped write the manual for proper loading procedures for the C-130 and other aircraft.
Preceding Juan in death were his parents and his wife Billie. Surviving him are his children Regina Levario, Donna Winkles and husband Homer, Cathy Martinez and husband Ronnie and Rhonda Phipps. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren; DeeAnna Randall and husband Jonathan, Robert Winkles and wife Dawn, Brandy Martinez, Christopher Winkles and Mathew Martinez, brothers; Pete Levario and wife Debbie and Arturo Levario, and a sister Amelia Martinez as well as several great-grandchildren and many other extended family members and close friends.
