Lura Coleen Bryant, 88 of Abilene, formerly of Plainview, passed away at her home on May 27th, 2020. A graveside service will be held Monday June 1st at 10:00 am in the Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St in Abilene.
Coleen was born in Amarillo, Texas on October 26, 1931 to Claude and Myrtle Baldwin. She spent most of her school years in Lubbock and graduated as the Valedictorian of Lubbock High School. Coleen went on to attend Texas Tech and after one year married the love of her life Harry Ray Bryant on May 25, 1950.
In 1964, Harry Ray and Coleen moved to Plainview where they raised their family. Coleen was an active member of the Garland Street Church of Christ. She was an amazing mom and wife and loved caring for and spending time with her family. Coleen lived in Plainview until 2015 when she moved to Abilene to be closer to family.
Surviving Coleen are Her sons; Ray Bryant (Kathy), Wayne Bryant (Lisa), Gary Bryant (Donna), Bill Bryant (Cheri), Keith Bryant (Susan), daughter Trudy Holden (Weldon), daughter in law Christine Bryant, sister Lanell Buchanan, 20 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, extended family and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Kelly Bryant and a brother in law John Buchanan.
