Loretta May Mcreynolds

Loretta May McReynolds, 83, of Abilene, passed from this life on July 6, 2018.  A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 1202 S. Pioneer Drive at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018.  Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, near Lake Brownwood.

Born Loretta May Bagshaw to Everett and Leona (Nance) Bagshaw in Gate, Oklahoma on October 11, 1934, she attended school in Wichita, Kansas, graduating from Plainview High School in 1952.  She married her high school sweetheart, David McReynolds on October 24, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas.

She loved to travel with her husband and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was an avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast.  She was a resident of University Place in Abilene at the time of her passing.

Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee McReynolds; two infant children, David Wayne and Denise; a granddaughter, Brandi (McReynolds) Gares; and an infant great-grandson, Alec Gares.

She is survived by one daughter, Debbie Eppler and husband Dwight of Valrico, Florida and two sons, Greg McReynolds and wife Becky of Abilene and Steven McReynolds and wife Jessica of Perrysburg, Ohio; sister Nancy Criser and husband Gary of Erie, Kansas and brother Charles Bagshaw and wife Joy of Wichita, Kansas; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Lovingly known as "Granny," Loretta's family honors her as a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks friends to consider a donation to Mrs. McReynolds’ chosen charities; the American Cancer Society or the Disabled American Veterans.
