Leta Gay Henson

Leta Gay Henson, 61 of Abilene, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 15, 2023.  A memorial service honoring her life will be on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street. After the memorial we will have food and play dominoes/card games at 225 Honey Bee Road, Abilene, Tx 79601 (Gary and Mandy's House).

Leta was born on September 10, 1961, in Abilene to Nannie Layfay Walker and Jimmy Roger Wilson, Sr.  She was a certified nursing assistant and worked at Abilene Regional Medical Center and the Abilene State School.

She worked hard whether at work or for her family and friends. She loved being with grandchildren and family. She enjoyed playing games and cooking all her life. She was a caretaker by nature and loved with her whole heart everyone she meet. She touched many people's lives and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother (Jerry Don Wilson) and her sister (Nita Hindman).  She is survived by her son, Waylon Henson, and her daughter, Nancy Davis and husband Clayton Davis, and her grandchildren, Anthony Wilson, Casey Davis, William Swisser, Laren Henson and Waylon Henson, Jr.  She is missed and mourned by her sister, Rita McGuire and husband Thomas McGuire, and brothers, Jimmy Wilson and wife Helen Wilson, Gary Wilson and wife Mandy Wilson, Lewis Wilson and wife Rita Wilson, and Charles Wilson.
