Kay Lynn Clowdus peacefully passed July 2, 2022 surrounded by her loving family and close friends. Kay Lynn loved life, her greatest joy was being with family and friends. Please join us as we celebrate a life well lived. Visitation will be Wednesday July 6, 2022, 5:30-7:30pm. Funeral service will be Thursday July 7, 2022, at 10:00am. Both will be at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.
Kay Lynn was born June 3, 1940, to Clarence and Bessie Perry. She grew up in Merkel and graduated from Merkel High School in 1958. On June 4, 1960, Kay Lynn married the love of her life, the late Don Clowdus. Kay Lynn worked for the Abilene Cultural Affairs Council for over 30 years, was active in Junior League and Beta Sigma Phi for several years and made dear friends through those endeavors.
Kay Lynn’s love for those she held dear was beyond measure and she cherished every moment with them. She was a caring and devoted mother to Paula Clowdus (Randy Clouse) and Scott Clowdus, adoring “auntie” to her nieces and nephews, loving “grandmother” to many children and fur babies, and treasured friend.
Kay Lynn was our Queen Bee and the last of her generation in our family. Gone before her are her parents, Clarence and Bessie Perry; husband, Don Clowdus; sisters, Betty Jean Russom and Clarene Denson; nephew, Randall Russom and great nephew, Brandon Denson.
All expressions of sympathy are welcome. Hearts for the Arts and Buffalo Gap Historic Village are charities Kay Lynn personally supported.
I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
