John Michael "Mike" Clark

John Michael Clark (Mike), 62, of Abilene, passed away at his happy place on Lake Coleman on September 26, 2024. There will be a memorial service at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street, on Saturday, October 5, at 11:00 a.m. Dale Mansfield will officiate.

Mike was born on August 22, 1962 to James and Beryl Clark in Blytheville, Arkansas. A child of a military family, they eventually settled in Abilene, Texas. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1981. That same year, he and his brother, Jim, began Clark’s Automotive. Later on, Mike successfully operated Mike Clark’s Automotive for over 33 years. In 1991 he married the love of his life, Connie. As soul mates, they lived a true love story and spent over 33 wonderful years by each other’s side.

Through his many years in business he gained the trust and respect of his clients who quickly became lifelong friends. He never met a stranger and was always first to help anyone in need. His servant heart was evident through his daily interactions with his clients, lake and ranch friends, family and others he encountered along the way.

Mike (Pa-Pa) loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent many enjoyable hours on the back porch with Connie, at the deer lease and at their lake house.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beryl Clark and beloved in-laws J Lee and Sylvia Pruitt. He is survived by his wife, Connie; siblings, Andrew Atkins (Chris), Jim Clark (Lisa), Kathy Sellars (Mike), Lyndi Sage-Walker (Lewis); his children, Jennifer Brawley (Matt), Jennifer Daniel (John), Jacob Clark (Tiffani). He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family and friends.
