Jenny Louisa Espinoza, 40 years old, of Abilene, Texas passed away peacefully at Hendrick Medical Center on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Services are scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 2:00pm at Highland Church of Christ located at 425 Highland Avenue, Abilene, Texas 79605. The burial will take place immediately following at the Buffalo Gap Cemetery located at 3241 FM 89, Buffalo Gap, Texas. A Visitation will be held Friday, February 11, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Piersall Funeral Home located at 733 Butternut Street, Abilene, Texas 79602. The family invites everyone to join them in remembering Jenny at all three events.
Jenny was born on November 5, 1981, to Mr. and Mrs. Johnny and Janie Hernandez at Dyess Air Force Base Hospital in Abilene, Texas. Jenny attended Abilene High School and went on to further her education at Cisco Junior College where she earned her Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy. She worked for PBSC as a registered Behavioral Tech and she was working toward her Bachelor’s Degree through Capella University to become a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst.
Jenny was a devout Christian. She and Zacheri’s faith in our Lord Jesus Christ was at the center of their lives. Jenny and her husband led their family in a life of prayer, and she had an unmatched passion for praying for others. Her faith was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Jenny and Zacheri were members at the Highland Church of Christ and served as pastors at Mission Abilene. Jenny was a director of Kairos Outside and was a member of Emerald of the Sea, Sisters of Strength Woman’s Bible Study and recently started her own bible study, Sisters of I Am.
Jenny was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend and co-worker. Her smile and her laugh brought joy to the world. She will be deeply missed.
Jenny is survived by her husband Zacheri Espinoza, her five children, sons Luis Barrientes and Jaedyn Hernandez-Laningham, and three young daughters Caia Espinoza, AbbaGayle Espinoza, and Amaris Espinoza, her step-children, Taylor Espinoza, Breana Espinoza and Kyra Espinoza, her mother Janie Hernandez, brother Raymond Hernandez and wife Christina Hernandez, sisters Rebecca Rocha and husband Fernando Rocha, Cristal Hernandez, nieces Marisela Rocha and Gabriela Torres, and nephews Jordan and Christian Williams, Michael Torres, Juan Rocha Jr. and Adrian Rocha, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Jenny is preceded in death by her father, Johnny Hernandez and several beloved family members.
