James Eckford

James Edward Eckford passed away in Abilene, Texas on April 22, 2020. He was 65 years old.

He was born to the late Bettye Jo Eckford in Amarillo,Texas on May 1,1954. This was a great day of celebration for our family. James was the 4th of 9 siblings and was fondly called JB.  The family eventually moved to Albuquerque, NM where he met his lovely bride of 35 years. He gave his life to the Lord in his early 30’s when he was baptized in Jesus name and received the Gift of the Holy Ghost. He then relocated to Abilene where he was in the Trucking Business for 20 years, traveling all over the US. He was an amazing husband, father, uncle & grandfather and touched everyone with kindness by the life that he lead.

James was preceded in death by his oldest brother; Eddie D. Phillips and his Beloved Mother; Bettye Jo Eckford.

He leaves to celebrate his life, his beautiful wife Brooke Eckford, 2 daughters; Vinicia Fuller and Brooke Fuller. 2 sons: Jeremy Fuller and DeHaven Chistopher Eckford, all of Abilene,Texas. Brothers; Gary Phillips of Nevada, Kervis Nevels of Oklahoma, William Nevels of Washington & Sisters; Rosa Warren, Doris Johnson & Karen Pettiford (Daniel) of New Mexico, Valerie Bailey of Arizona and Ravonne Nevels of Texas; 2 Aunts: Eunice Green of California and Margaret Johnson (Charles) of Louisiana and a host of neices, nephews & cousins.
