Jacquelyn "Jacqui" Cecile Grant

Jacquelyn “Jacqui” Grant, 76, of Abilene, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019.  A memorial to honor her life will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Jacqui was born on June 2, 1942 in Manistique, Michigan to Howard and Evelyn McEachern.  She grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and attended college at the University of Michigan where she met her husband David Grant.  They later moved to San Francisco where Jacqui had hopes of becoming a writer.  In 1986, Jacqui moved to Nashville and in 2009, she found her way to Abilene to live with her sister.  Jacqui was very witty and was known for her sense of humor.  One of her favorite activities was to sit with friends for coffee and conversation.

Jacqui was preceded in death by her parents, and by a sister, Anita Daniels.  She is survived by her daughter Romany Grant and her husband Larry Kraus of San Jose, California, her three sisters; Joyce Sexton of Abilene, Joan Purcell of Germfask. Michigan and Gerri Jimenez and husband Mario of Abilene, and her two grandchildren; Jensen and Veronica Kraus.
