Helen “Anne” (Hall) Herman was born in Willow Springs Missouri on May 15, 1933, to Thelma (Richman) and Eldon Hall. She passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, at Hendrick Hospice Care Center at the age of 88.
She married Robert “Bob” Herman on April 17, 1955. Bob and Anne had two children, Alan and Pam. They moved from the Missouri area to Abilene, TX in 1960 where Bob taught math at Hardin Simmons University and Anne stayed home with their children for several years.
Once her children were in school, Anne continued the teaching career she began in Missouri, teaching English and later being a librarian for the Hawley School District from 1980 to 1994. She was beloved by the students and faculty.
She was active in church, singing in the choir with Bob. They were members of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and loved to give books to her grandchildren.
Anne is survived by her children: Alan and wife Cindy Herman of Clovis, NM, Pam Dugger of the home; six grandchildren: John Dugger, Michele Dugger, Nathaniel Herman and wife Meleah, Isaac Herman and wife Kirstin, Seth Herman, and Caleb Herman; and three great-grandchildren: Eric Dugger, Ambrose Herman, and Amorette Herman; her sister Jan Parker and husband Jim and a sister-in-law Joy Herman. She is predeceased by her husband Bob and her mother and father.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hendrick Hospice for the loving care that was given during Mom’s brief stay.
A visitation with the family will be on Thursday December 2 nd from 5:00-6:30pm at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St. A graveside service will be at 11:00am Friday in the Elliott Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery.
