Harley Bell

December 3, 1954 — June 24, 2023

Harley Bell, 68, of Abilene passed away at Hendrick Medical Center on Saturday June 24th, 2023.  A visitation will be held Wednesday evening June 28th from 6-8 pm in the chapel at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 10:00 am with a burial to follow in the Highland Cemetery in Stamford.

Harley was born on December 3rd, 1954 to A.J. and Bobbie Bell in Stamford, Texas.  He was raised in Stamford and after finishing school there, he worked in Sweetwater and Stamford for many years.  His ability to fix things led Harley to become the director of maintenance at Stamford Memorial Hospital.

Harley always greeted everybody with a smile and a BIG HUG.  He enjoyed welding, dancing, and watching football…especially the Dallas Cowboys.  Harley loved all of his family and truly enjoyed seeing and spending time with his grandchildren who always brightened his day.

Preceding Harley in death were his wife Pam Bell, son Brad Bell, parents A.J. Bell, Bobbie Bell Nieto, stepfather Jack Nieto, and brothers Clifton, Milton, and Aaron Bell.

He is survived by sons, Landon Bell of Wylie, Randy Bell of Abilene, and Blake Riggins (Elisha) of Hawley, daughters, Angela Blocker and Ashley Riggins, three sisters, Emily McNair (Larry) of Jonesboro, AR, Shirley Breeden (Jackie) of Abilene, and Nancy Henthorne (Ken) of Lockhart. In addition, Harley is survived by eight grandchildren, Toni Blocker, Tobi Blocker, Braxton, Brody, Haizlee and Ivy Bell, Gage and Ember Riggins, as well as many nieces and nephews and other extended family members and close friends.

Donations may be made in Harley’s honor to Fresenius South Dialysis Center, 2009 Hospital Place, Abilene, 79606.
