Grover "Don" Sikes

Grover “Don” Sikes, age 81, of Hawley, TX, passed away October 20, 2021.  A memorial service will be held on Sunday October 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Hawley Church of Christ in Hawley, TX.

Don was born November 8, 1939 in Portales, New Mexico to Norbon and Emma Sikes.  He married Bessie Ramsey on October 2, 1976.  He received a Masters Degree in religion from Eastern New Mexico University.  He was a Bible Chair director at Tyler Junior College for three years and a petroleum landman until he retired.  He enjoyed restoring and driving antique cars, working on the farm, taking grandkids on Kubota rides and writing music.  He loved to sing and play piano.  During his life, Don spent countless hours studying, researching and writing books about Biblical Chronology.  Don had also served as an elder for LaGrange Church of Christ and Hawley Church of Christ.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Wilma Nell Pierce, Joy Sikes, Moy Dudrey, Belinda Blue, Billie Tabor and Kathryn Cox and brothers, Noble, Norbon, Jack and Bob.  He is survived by his wife of 45 years, his son, Brannon and wife Jennifer Sikes and their children Lynessa (Anthony) and Bryzick, a daughter Donna and husband Jeffrey Ronquillo and their children, Carson, Christian, Luke and Judah, a brother Barry and his wife Ruth Sikes and numerous nieces and nephews.
