George, or Clifford Adams, depending on how you knew him, was born in Stamford, Texas on September 28, 1944 to George and Barbara Adams. He led a very interesting and full life. Living most of his time in Texas, California and Arizona. He was a pipefitter/welder/draftsman by trade but he did so much more. George, at one time or another, designed and manufactured a working man’s clothing line, had a BBQ catering company and restaurant, restored old cars, enjoyed drag racing and even automobile demolition derbies. He was an international champion silhouette handgun shooter, updated various shooting ranges, instructed numerous Hollywood actors how to handle guns and had a love for hunting and fishing, scuba diving. George was a man’s man, but he was fun loving, very friendly and outgoing and could be very generous with friends and family. He was a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters for 55 years, Local 250 Plumbers and Pipefitters member, a Mason, a Shriner, and an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
George was preceded in death by his Father, Mother and Stepfather Ray Keene and Stepson Michael Dean Caton. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth Adams of Baird; son Charles Kelly Adams of Abilene; daughters Kimberly DeLeon and Debra Caton, both of Abilene; brother Rex Adams of Chandler, Arizona and sister Carol Lowe and husband Windell of Abilene; plus 8 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
