Frankie Lee Lowry

Mr. Frankie Lee Lowry, Sr. “FRANK” died peacefully in Bright Pointe at Lytle Lake Assisted Living Facility on April 27, 2018 in Abilene, Texas at the age of 79.  Funeral service will be Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street, with burial to follow at the Abilene Municipal Cemetery.

Frank was born on March 1, 1939 in Marlin, Texas to Ocie Lee Lowry, Sr. and Lucille Isaac Lowry. He graduated from Woodson High School in Abilene in 1959.  Frank married Johnnie Mae Jones on December 7, 1959. Frank worked for Central Texas Iron Works for over 20 years. He also worked for Dr. Jack Ramsey for over 18 years. Frank and Johnnie were blessed with four children. They had sixteen grandchildren with grands and great grands blessing the family as the years went by.

Frank and Johnnie were married for fifty-eight years. His Grandchildren’s favorite memory of him is the snacks and sodas he always had when they came to visit him. Frank loved shopping at his favorite stores HEB, United and Walmart. He loved a good bargain.  He also loved to cook and tell stories and jokes.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents Ocie Lee Lowry Sr. and Lucille Isaac Lowry, a daughter, Ramona Rae Lowry and a grandson, William Mack Lowry and two brothers, Ocie Lee Lowry Jr. and Marvin Dawson Lowry.

Frank is survived by his wife Johnnie Lowry; children, Myrtle Kay Smith, Frank Lowry Jr., and Lynette Williams (Anthony ), Matthew Lowry (Grandson raised as his own); siblings, Willie E. Lowry (Teresa), James E. Lowry (Doreen), Lela F Brooks (Alvin), Bobby J. Lowry (Lavonda Word), Charles E. Lowry (Dorothy ), Betty L. McChristian (Ricky ), Katy F. Lowry, Gary Lowry, Joyce A. Lowry, Barbara R. Lowry, Evelyn F. Lowry, Ricky D. Lowry, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
