Frank Mario Curiel, 51, of Abilene, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the New Light Baptist Church, 518 N. 6th Street. Arrangements under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.
Frank was born on September 29,1972 to Frank and Ileana Curiel. Frank grew up in Abilene Tx, he was the eldest and only son of 5. He attended Anson Jones Elementary, Mann MS and Abilene HS. After high school, Frank served his country as a Combat Medic in the US Army Reserve. Throughout his career Frank worked at various places including Teleperformance and Blue Cross Blue Shield where he made lifelong friends. He was a member of Texas Avenue Baptist Church.
Frank was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Mario Jimenez and paternal grandmother, Amparo Curiel. Sisters, Andrea Curiel, Sonya “Bonnie” Curiel and Honorary Grandmother, Sara Torres. Two grandsons, Adriyel Camacho and Lucas Tant.
He will be loved and missed by his Mother, Ileana Curiel and his Father, Frank Curiel. Sisters, Alicia Curiel and Amparo Curiel.
Children, Christian Curiel and wife, Destiny. Rey Curiel and wife, Izzy, Miraya Curiel and Gabriel Curiel, Rusty Curiel and wife, Megan. Ashley Mendoza and Husband, Tommy. Mercedes Curiel, Chandi Tant and husband, Paul.
He was a father figure to his nieces and nephews Isaiah and Uriah Mirelez, Iah Newman, Josiah Rodriguez and Benji Turner. Other Nieces and nephews, Sonya McClure and husband, Phillip. Marialena Alexander and Robert Richardson. Grand nieces, Sariah and Aliah Curiel Newman. Heaven Grant, Anica Wolf and Angelique McClure.
He was a wonderful Grandpa “Apa” to Ansley, Frankee, Miraya II, Keland, Juan, Jocelynn, Lexi, Ella, Aleazzia, Analicia, Asiyah, Alyxx, Athena, Adrian, Zayden Madilynn and Adam.
He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Gloria Jimenez and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
We would like to give special mention to his Best Friend, who was always there for him, and his children, Nelson Cheney.
