Erika Ferrand of Abilene passed away Thursday, April 20 with family at her side after a short illness.
Mrs. Ferrand was born in Grossen Linden, Germany Jan. 20, 1940. She married U.S. Army Private First Class James Lanham and came to Texas in 1958. In addition to raising five children, she worked at the Timex watch factory and other businesses in Abilene and California.
She is preceded in death by her second husband Claude Ferrand, sister Inge Lee and her sons Robert Lanham and Jerry Lanham.
Mrs. Ferrand is survived by her daughter Jutta (Jim) Biggerstaff of Blanco, sons Ronald (Vickie) Lanham and John (Cathie) Lanham of Abilene; sisters Gisela (Bill) Ward of Syracuse, New York, Lieselotte (Dieter) Peppler of Linden, Germany and brother Karl Heinz of Linden, Germany; 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She enjoyed visiting with her children and grandchildren, playing Farkle, a glass of champagne, a winning slot machine, and traveling to Germany to visit family there.
Services are at 1 p.m., Monday, April 24, at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St., Abilene.
