Edward L. Dunn, 75 years of age, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021, surrounded by his kids, which was his request. Funeral service will be on Friday, November 26, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, 7457 W. Lake Road, under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.
Leon was born on September 1, 1946, in Conroe, Texas to James W. Dunn and Rosa Gustine Dunn. On July 3, 1964, he married Janice Marie Dunn in Cleveland, Texas. They lived all over West Texas and have lived in Abilene since 1989. Leon served 2 tours in the military and received the Bronze Star. He was a truck driver for many years and was a hard-working man and loved his family dearly.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janice Marie Dunn, daughter Rose Kathleen Dunn, sister Rose Marie Dunn, brothers Jesse Wayne Dunn and James Dunn, and grandson Stephen Dunn. He is survived by his children Edward Leon Dunn, Jr. of Abilene; Rhonda Dunn McAlister and husband Wayne of Phenix City, Alabama, and Trixie Dunn Shannon and husband Mark of Abilene; brothers George Dunn, Arthur Dunn, Ronnie Dunn and Wesley MacMillan, and sister Judy Stafford; grandchildren Justin, Jaylen, Ashley, Cole and Anna Grace and great-grandchildren Rylee, Cameron, Ireland, Eliza and Elias.
