Edna Christine (Walker) Mallett

Edna Christine (Walker) Mallett, 84 of Abilene, passed away on December 23, 2021.  A gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Edna was born on August 16, 1937 in Petersburg, Texas to Robert and Mary Shannon Mallett.  She worked hard over her years to help support her family and served as a caregiver for both of her parents.  Edna was very inquisitive and curious and could make anything out of whatever was available.  She was always thinking ahead as to what needed to be done and found a way to get it accomplished.  Best of all, she was a feisty, sassy woman. We will miss that feisty spirit and her witty personality.

She loved her fur baby, Joey, bowling, flowers, bird watching and traveling.  She also loved caring for children and watching baseball, especially the Dodgers and the Giants, football and tennis.  She also had a deep passion for our U.S. flag and the military men and women who protect us.  Edna would do anything for her family.

“As believers in our savior Jesus Christ the son of God the sting of death is no more.”  We will all be together again someday, momma.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, a son Douglas Ray Walker, grandson Thomas Joe Walker, granddaughter Bonnie Marie, and sister, Sue Sinclair.  She is survived by her son John Walker and wife Kelli; daughters Barbara Hess and husband Rodney; Betty Walker and Brenda Davidson and husband Jimmy; her brother Jim Aylor and wife Sherry, nieces and nephews that were dear to her heart, Sherry Sinclair, Curtis Sinclair, Steven Sinclair, Chickie (Karen Sue) Sinclair, Luke Aylor and Amanda Aylor; grandchildren Jaclyn, Madelyn and Erin Walker, Bailey Hess, Jeni Garcia, Larenda Climer, Vincent Garcia and William Noland, plus other grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
