Doyce Dean English peacefully passed away at home and saw the face of Jesus on July 27, 2022, in Potosi, Texas, after 84 years of a well-lived life. A visitation with the family will be on Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.
Doyce was born in Tishomingo Oklahoma, and grew up in Lelia Lake, Texas, before meeting the love of his life, his wife, Florence, in Albany, Texas. Doyce and Florence married on August 17, 1956, when he was only 17 and she was 15, and they lived like newlyweds for the next 66 years. Doyce proudly served in the United States Air Force and eventually retired from the Department of Defense Civil Service after a long and successful career serving his country.
Doyce's biggest joy came from time spent with family and friends. He was the greatest example of what a husband, dad, pappaw, and pappoo should be. Doyce loved his family dearly, but his one true love on this earth was his treasured wife, whom he treated like a queen. He lived a Godly life and loved his church family. Doyce leaves behind a true legacy by living a life of serving others and being an incredible example for his children, grandchildren, friends, and everyone who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his his father, James English, his mother, Jewell English, twin sister, Dorothy Watkins, sister Juanita Massengale, and brothers James Leon English, Donald English, Bill English, and Jim English.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, son Russell English and his wife Debbie; daughter Sherry Richardson and her husband J.R.; son Tim English and his wife Terri; daughter Mashelle Ancell and her husband Dwayne; and sister Faye Williamson and her husband Fred. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Ben Richey Boys Ranch.
