Dorothy L. Sloan

On Saturday, December 19, 2020, Dorothy went home to be with our Lord and Savior.  Born in Kress, Texas on March 22, 1927, she moved from Plainview to Abilene in 2008 to be close to family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Horace “Curley” Sloan, her parents, five brothers and three sisters.  She is survived by her three children, James Campbell of Hawley, Linda and husband Gale Cheatham of Abilene and Janis Sloan (Hunter) of San Antonio.  She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren as well as her very special granddaughter Missy Granillo of Bakersfield, California.

She was a loving stay at home mom who took great care of her children.

The family would like to thank the staff at BrightPointe at Lytle Lake.  A viewing will be held Monday December 28, 2020 from 1-2 pm in the Chapel at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St with a service to follow at 2:00pm.  The family requests that all in attendance wear a mask.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hendrick Hospice, 1651 Pine St, Abilene, 79601.  Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.pbfuneraldirectors.com.
