Donald Cecil Jackson

Donald Cecil Jackson, 86, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018.  Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St, with a time of visitation to start at 1:00 p.m.

Don Jackson was born on September 22, 1931 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Cecil and Clarice Jackson.  Don served in the U.S. Navy. He spent 35 years working at National Security Agency, retiring as the Deputy Director. During those years he served as a Diplomat at the American Embassy in London and received the Distinguished Executive Award from President Reagan. He had a doctorate degree in Business Administration and served as a professor of Economics at Abilene Christian University.  Don was an elder at the Highland Church of Christ and, before that, an elder at the Annapolis Church of Christ.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Carol Braden.  He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Laverne Jackson; son Philip Jackson; daughter Karen Collins; sister Norma Mullins; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
