Connie Jean Hall Wallace, 81, of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020. A graveside service for Connie and her husband Glen will be on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery of Abilene. A combined memorial service will be on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Oldham Lane Church of Christ, under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.
Connie was born in El Paso, Texas on August 3, 1939, to Cornelia Reeves Hall and T.E. (Bud) Hall, Jr. She grew up and went to school at Eagle Mountain Lake and graduated from North Side High School in Fort Worth. Connie married Jerrell Darwin Stockard in 1955. They were married for 27 years. Connie received her Bachelor’s degree from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. After earning her degree, she went to work for the Texas Commission on the Arts as a private consultant for Region IX Education Service Center, teaching visual arts and creative writing in many north Texas public schools. Her last venture in teaching was in elementary schools in Marble Falls, Burnet, Round Rock and Abilene. Connie married Glen Ralph Wallace Jr., on Valentine’s Day in 1994. They moved to Abilene and retired there.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Cornelia Hall, her husband Jerrell Stockard and a daughter, Vicki Lynn Stockard Phipps. She is survived by her husband Glen Ralph Wallace and her daughter Carolyn Stockard Shaw and husband Mark of North Richland Hills, Texas. Grandchildren Chad Henderson and his wife Jessica of Cedar Park Texas, Benjamin Henderson and Brittany of Pflugerville Texas, Sarah Henderson Geffert and her husband Jason of Cypress Texas, Barrett Shaw and sister Julia Shaw of North Richland Hills Texas. Great Grand Children include Camryn, Cole, Case, Kinley, Rylan, Luke and Victoria. Connie’s step-children include Pam Wallace Goodrich and husband Tom of Abilene, Glenda Wallace Houston and husband Garry of Abilene and Steve Wallace and his wife Mendy of Abilene. Grandchildren Jessie Johnson and her husband Billie, Katy Mundell and her husband Seth, Ty Wallace and his wife Danielle and Ben Goodrich, along with Glen’s great grandchildren that Mom included of as her own, Damien, Skyler, Faith, Anna, Makinzley, Baylee and Tucker.
