Claudia Inman McNutt, 86, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 in Stephenville. A service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in the Chapel at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St. with a burial at Elmwood Memorial Park to follow. Visitation with the family will be held Monday evening from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
Claudia Inman McNutt was born July 15, 1932 in Gainesville, Texas to Duward Vernon (D.V.) and Willie Maybelle Buttry Inman. She grew up in Coleman and after graduating high school moved to Abilene to attend Draughn’s Business College. Shortly after coming to school in Abilene she married her high school sweetheart Raymond McNutt who was in Abilene attending Abilene Christian College. Raymond and Claudia spent 64 years together side by side in business and life.
Together Raymond and Claudia owned and operated several flower shops in Abilene including, most recently, High's Florist. Claudia loved her family and was actively involved in the Hamby Church of Christ.
Surviving Claudia are her three sons; Gregory and wife Sharon, Guy and wife Michelle, and Gary and wife Sharon all of Dublin, a daughter, Janice Merryman and husband Tom of Baird and six grandchildren; Becky Olson and husband Alan, Jaclyn Yarborough and husband Cody, Lindy Ashlock and husband Wes, Christi Rater and husband Brian, Mica Rudd and husband Mike, and Hayli Davis and husband Justin as well as 21 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family members and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond and her parents.
