Clara Claudette Perry, 90, of Abilene, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 10, 2021. A Rosary will be Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Noon at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 837 Jeanette Street, with burial to follow at the Abilene Municipal Cemetery.
Claudette was born on July 8, 1931 in Abilene to Robert Lee and Elsie Aramanda Perry. She earned a degree in Immunology and started working at Hendrick Medical Center as a Serologist and Immunologist. She spent 40 years at Hendrick, and after her retirement, she continued her work as a volunteer at the Presbyterian Medical Mission in Abilene. In all that she did, she strived to be like Christ and gave with the heart of a servant. She served the Abilene community in many ways, but always preferring to be behind the scenes and not calling attention to herself. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and was a member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother James D. Perry and nephews Jim P. Perry and John M. Perry, and sister-in-law Elidia Lita Perry.
