Chad Marshall Wright

Chad Marshall Wright, 50, of Abilene, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.  Funeral service will be on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillcrest Church of Christ, 650 E. Ambler Ave.  A visitation with the family will be on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Chad was born on February 6, 1972 in Abilene to William and Geraldine Wright.  He attended Abilene Christian Schools but graduated from Abilene High School.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Angelo State University and his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Abilene Christian University.  Chad was a teacher and principal, teaching in Sweetwater and Hawley, and later leading schools as principal in Winters and Eldorado ISD.  Chad was beloved by his many students.  He was always handing out candy, writing notes of encouragement, and even had special hand signals with his student that he used to acknowledge them.  Chad loved to write notes and send post cards to everyone he knew.  He had foreign pen pals that he shared letters with regularly.  And he had a fascination with cars, all cars, and he loved everything about them.

Chad was preceded in death by his father, William Eugene Wright, and by his sister, Leslie Frasier.  He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Wright of Abilene; his wife, Lauren Wright of Abilene; daughters Ashleigh Wright Roberts and husband Thoren of Whiteface, Texas, Bridgette Wright and Cailee “Red” Wright, both of Abilene; brothers Alan Wright and wife Sue of Abilene and Gary Wright and wife Leah of Burleson, Texas; and one grandson, William A. Roberts.
