Boneda Love Hicks

Boneda (Bonnie) Hicks, 93, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Wife, was called to her eternal resting place on September 15, 2021. Burial will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 10:15 a.m.

Bonnie and Ralph were married in Nashville, TN in 1951 before he was deployed to Korea. She was an Air Force wife for 21 years and the family lived in various places including Ohio, California, Alaska and Texas. She worked as a hairdresser for over 30 years. Bonnie loved to cheer on the Dallas Cowboys. She loved animals and passed that love on to her daughters and granddaughters. She served as Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star while living in Big Spring. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Linden, TN and attended Potosi United Methodist Church.

Bonnie entered this world on February 2, 1928 in Linden, TN, born to Ira and Sophronia Doyle, She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Ralph Hicks of Potosi; daughter Carolyn Edge and son-in-law Jerry of Euless; daughter Julie Bramblett of Abilene; granddaughter Wendy Williams of Potosi; granddaughter Jessica Gracia and husband Jim of Fort Worth; brother-in-law Titus Durden of Linden; sister-in-law Ernestine Ware of Haynesville, LA; nephew Kerry Thomas of Marietta, GA; and five great-grandchildren: Ethan; Maddolyn, June, Jaxon and Jace.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Sue Ann Durden and Mary Celestine Thomas, brother-in-law Al Thomas and nephew Mark Thomas.
