Betty Jean Colburn

November 8, 1935 — June 11, 2024

Betty Jean Colburn, 88, of Clyde, Texas, formerly of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away at the home of her daughter on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, surrounded by her family.  Funeral services will be on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at the Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, Arizona.  Family viewing will be from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., celebration of Life from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., with graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at the West Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 West Northern Ave., Glendale Arizona.  Local arrangements are under the direction of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street.

Betty was born in Plainfield, New York to Florence and Edward Wilson, on November 8, 1935, but always considered Phoenix, Arizona her home.  She was a claims analyst for Aetna Insurance and retired from Aetna in 1998.  Betty had a passion for bowling.  She moved from her home in Phoenix to Clyde, Texas in 2018, due to health needs.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband James Colburn and her beloved chihuahuas, Sam and Tia.  She is survived by her daughters Karen Colburn of Manchester, New Hampshire, Susan Templeton of Clyde, Jamie Colburn of Mesa, Arizona, Lorraine Heers of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Jackie Colburn of Spokane, Washington; her brother Edward Wilson of Gilbertsville, New York and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
