Barbara Jane Moffett

Barbara Jane Moffett, 72 of Abilene, passed away on Tuesday October 15th, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.  She was born on January 2, 1952 in Snyder, Texas.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Bishop (Boe) Moffett and Marie Moffett, a brother Maxi of Snyder and a sister Arettus Ann Sullivan of Odessa.

She is survived by a brother, Ferris K (Keith) Moffett of Lubbock, nephew Evan Moffett of Salem, OR, nephew, Jason Sullivan of Odessa, and niece, Megan Bailey of Odessa.

Barbara taught for 29 years in Texas, 22 of those years in the Abilene Independent School District.  She retired on May 31st, 2007.  For the academic year 2005-06, she was awarded the Faye Biles Education Award by the American Heart Association for implementing AHA school related programs.

Her passion, besides teaching, was golf.
