One of God’s most passionate evangelists has lost a hard fought battle against cancer, and is now absent from us but present with Him. Frances “Eloise” Foster, 88 of Deerfield, Illinois passed away Wednesday, November the 10th in Abilene, Texas. Eloise was born in Zanesville Ohio on November 25, 1921 to Carl and Mary Matheny. She was a gifted pianist and trained soprano soloist who shared her musical talent throughout her lifetime. Starting at an early age, she performed piano duets, sang duets and even wrote her high school senior class song.
She married Cecil Foster in March of 1947 and they enjoyed nearly 50 years together. Cecil was taken with Eloise's musical ability and affectionately referred to her as "High C". In 1955, Eloise and Cecil built a home in Wilmette where they spent the majority of their married life. It was there they raised their two daughters, where Eloise served as a Deacon and soprano soloist at the Community Church of Wilmette, and she developed an interest in raising and training German shepherds.
Eloise worked as an Administrative Assistant at New Trier West High School for 14 Years, until retiring to be a full-time caregiver for Cecil. During this 16 year period of care giving she developed a strong relationship and dependence on Christ for her daily guidance. Eloise had a passion for life and for Jesus that she shared with her co-workers, friends, and family. She truly made a difference in the lives of people by sharing her gifts and talents.
Eloise is survived by her loving daughters Victoria Frens and her husband David of Olney, Maryland and Elizabeth (Liz) Blazier and husband Rich of Abilene, Texas, four precious grandchildren; Leigh, John, Andy and Nick, as well as many extended family members and close friends. Preceding Eloise in death were her parents, her husband Cecil, and her sister.
