Robert "Tiny" Glass

Robert "Tiny" Glass, born March 28, 1925, went home with our Savior, Sunday September 5th, 2010. He was a loving husband, step-dad, brother, and uncle. A spoiling "papaw" to many grand and great-grand babies as well as other children that touched his life.

Tiny served his country in the Marine Corp from March of 1943 to December of 1945 during World War II. He saw action in the Marshall Islands, Guam, Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands and in the occupation of Japan. He was so proud of his opportunity to serve his country.

He is survived by his wife Christine Glass, two step-daughters; Sherry Carrion and husband Rey of Merkel, and Judy Whittington of Salina, KS, a sister Mary Francis Wilkins of Albuquerque, NM, a nephew Ronnie Wilkins and wife Sally of Los Alamos, NM, two cousins; Mable Glass of Snyder and Melinda Simmons of Abilene as well as five grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Preceding Robert in death were his parents, J.M. and Desde Glass, his first wife Theresa Glass, two brothers; Ralph and James Glass, a niece Cheryl Ann Devolle.

A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, September 8th, 2010 at Elmwood Memorial Park with Sonny Guild officiating under the direction of Piersall Benton Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St. A visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm.
