Bonnie Jean Forbes Gutierrez

Bonnie Jean Forbes Gutierrez, 69 of Abilene, passed away Sunday July 25th at a local medical center. A memorial service honoring Bonnie's life is scheduled for 6:00 pm Thursday July 29,2010 in the Chapel at Piersall Benton Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St.

Bonnie Jean was born to Fredrick and Lydia Jerome in Syracuse, NY on June 28, 1941. She grew up and attended school in Norwalk, California. Bonnie was a beautician for over 30 years and not only did she own and operate several salons including BJ's hair design in Abilene and Alamogordo, but she also owned and instructed at the Aladdin Beauty College in Abilene.

In March of 2009 Bonnie moved back to Abilene to be closer to family. Bonnie was not your average Grandma. She was full of life and brought joy to all those who knew her. She had a mischievous sense of humor that would take you by surprise but she always followed that with a complement.

Preceding Bonnie in death were her parents and her husband Benjamin Gutierrez. Surviving Bonnie is her son Barry Gerardi of Burlington, WA, daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Kevin Welker of Abilene; a brother, Terrence Jerome of Abilene; a sister, Susan Adix of Riverside, CA; four grandchildren, Nichole Bowman, Christana Fox and Anthony Welker all of Abilene and Shawn Gerardi of Washington; one great grandchild and one on the way, as well as several nieces and nephews.
