William H. "Bill" Harrison

. "Bill" Harrison, 86 of Abilene, passed away at a local medical center on Wednesday June 23rd, 2010. A service is scheduled for 10:00 am Monday June 28th, 2010 at the Piersall Benton Chapel, 733 Butternut St with a burial to follow in the Hamlin Memorial Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled from 3-5 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Bill Harrison was born to William H. Harrison and Sallie Bell Sellers Harrison on August 15th, 1923 in Hamlin, Texas. He grew up in Hamlin where he met and ultimately married Mamie Ruth Turner on April 29th, 1947. Besides his time in the military, Bill worked many different jobs during his life and was a true “Jack of All Trades” and could honestly fix anything. He was a quiet servant and was always working to help others at his church. Bill had many friends and relatives who will miss him greatly.

Bill is survived by his son, Doug Harrison and wife Rene, and his daughter Vickie Edmondson and husband Harold. In addition, he is survived by grandchildren Kyrsten, and Skyler Harrison and Michael and Daniel Edmondson and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a son William Phillip Harrison, as well as a brother and 3 sisters.
