Maria Luisa Araminda Pena-Fuentes

Maria (Luisa) Araminda Fuentes Pena,78, Long time resident of Winters, Texas where she was a member of Mt. Carmen Catholic Church., went home to be with her Heavenly Father, Wednesday June 16th, 2010. Her service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday June the 19th in the Piersall Benton Chapel 733 Butternut St. with a visitation to follow at the funeral home.


Luisa was born in El Moral, Coahuila Mexico, on October 11, 1931 to Juan Fuentes Espinosa and Andrea Chacon de Fuentes. Luisa Married Pedro Marquez. Pena on April 26th, 1966. in Del Rio, Texas. She has lived in Abilene since 1980. She was a housewife and mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.


Luisa is survived by her daughter Mary Helen and husband Johnny M. Rodriguez of Abilene and a son Rojelio Garcia and wife Rosa of San Antonio. In addition she is survived by three granddaughters, Irene Rodriguez-Campbell and husband Phillip, Irma Rodriguez-Weatherford and husband Koby, and Erika Garcia and a grandson, Edgar Garcia and wife Priscilla. Luisa is survived by 13 great grand children and numerous nieces, nephews, and a friend Reyna Argon who helped to care for her for many years. Thank God for angels like Reyna and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Pedro, a daughter Hilda and 3 brothers and a sister.
